isu blog post

For my blog post, I have decided to relate my book on a news video. The reason why I have chosen a news video about a tornado in Oklahoma because it relates to the social issue of natural disasters/environment. The video identifies the terrors of a tornado. A tornado is a natural disaster because it is formed by warm and cold air masses clashing together. The video from, BBC News, shows a horrifying tornado, which killed many harmless civilians. Firstly, tornadoes can lead to death and injuries of many people who are nearby. In the video, it shows students and teachers injured very badly and also, other in search for family and friends. Secondly, tornadoes can destroy many homes because of its powerful winds. Tornadoes ram through homes and fully destroy them with great force. The video shows homes completely demolished, leaving no structures behind. This concerns society because now people are homeless and have no shelter. Lastly, the destruction of tornadoes can create blackouts and flooding leading to no electricity and water leaked into basements.

The video demonstrates the natural disasters of tornadoes and what they can do. This video relates to my book because a tornado occurs, making it difficult to survive. In the book, Life as We Knew It, a tornado occurs, while Miranda is at school. This makes it harder for Miranda and her family to survive because they have to dodge through a new obstacle. Recently, they heard about massive tsunamis and now, a tornado. At school Miranda and her teacher notice, “the winds had picked up, and branches were flying around outside…Ms. Hammish must have decided it was a tornado, because she told all of us to get up and go into the hallway;” this shows that a tornado is forming (Pfeffer 30). The significance of this quote defines that a tornado is being formed and everyone should be aware of this event. To survive everyone must get to a safe place, so they can avoid the tornado. The concern of this tornado is the aftermath because of the things it will destroy and the life it can take away or wound. Things are already ruff and this foreshadows it’s not getting any easier. This video relates to my book because in both, the video and the book, a tornado occurs and causes danger to cities. In conclusion, the natural disaster of a tornado creates social issues for survival.

For my blog, I decided to use a visual picture of a volcano erupting because it relates to the social issue of natural disasters/environment. The picture shows, the terrifying damages a volcano can cause such as ashes in the air, destruction of crops, and destruction from lava. Many volcanoes have erupted over time, leading to great catastrophe. My picture is an interpretation of 1815, of the volcano eruption in Indonesia by the Tambora Volcano. Firstly, the ashes in the air make it very hard to breathe because of the gases from the ashes. The volcano eruption in Indonesia had ashes covering up to 40 cubic kilometers. My picture will represent the ashes covering the air all over the city. Secondly, a volcano eruption can damage many crops nearby because of the ash that falls. These crops become infected by chemicals released from the ash because ashes may be poisonous. Lastly, the destruction of lava from a volcano can destroy the city and also kill many people nearby. My picture will represent the three key roles of a volcano because it relates to the same issue which occurs in the book.
My picture shows in description the great disasters a volcano can create. This photo/picture relates to my book because a volcano erupts and effects many people. It illustrates the ashes in the air, which can cause death to humans and also, destroy the crops and livestock. In the book, Life As We Knew It, these two issues occur, making it difficult for Miranda and her family to survive. In the book, Matt and Laura (Mom) explain to Miranda what issues the volcano has caused, even though they live very far away from the volcano. Matt tells Miranda "The moon's gravitational pull is forcing magma through the volcanoes"this shows that eruption has occurred (Pfefferpg121). Then, Laura says, "The concern is that the volcanic ash will cover the sun most places on earth"; relating to crops receiving no sunlight for days until the ashes disappear from the sky (Pfeffer, pg. 122). Lastly, Matt finishes off by saying, "No sunlight, no crops. Nothing grows without sunlight," (Pfefferpg. 122). These quotes signify that volcanoes can create a big impact on the environment, leading to food shortage and also toxic air caused by the ashes. My picture relates to these concerns because they represent all these issues by showing cloudy grey air as well as damaged crops receiving no sunlight. In conclusion, a volcanic eruption can lead to great catastrophes and give part in on going issues which are happening in the world.

Enders game political party

The Third Party
The third party is the party that will fulfill the needs of the citizens. We will first have rights and freedoms that we will put in affect. We think being able to feel and know who you exactly are is a very important thing in life. We should believe in saying what we wish too and wearing what we feel comfortable in. In our country there should be freedom of speech, freedom to vote, freedom of belief, and freedom of opinion. In our country everyone is treated equally, women or man, teenager or adult we all are human so why not treat one another like that. We are given this life so why not use it properly, harassment against anyone would be taken serious and the police would be reported onto it. Weather anyone is rich or poor, whatever their nationality, place of residence, sex, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, language, or any other status is, human rights is given to every human being on earth. If someone wishes to smoke behind the school let them that is their life and they would have to suffer the consequences. We believe in equality and human rights more than I believe in the knowledge given at school. Women are told to cover up because men can’t seem to concentrate, ever heard someone telling a man to keep their eyes to themselves. A woman gets raped, it was probably because of her clothing style. Freedom and rights are given to everyone in this world and in our country we would show that. We would show anyone is able to wear anything they wish too, we would let you do anything as long as you know you are the one to bear the consequences to anything illegal. Rights and Freedom is what our country would show you. We are the Third Party and we promise to fight for and with you.
We will also put many healthcare benefits for the citizens. We believe that in our world we should have free healthcare. Not paying it straight up, but instead paying it through taxes. I believe this because the civilian might get randomly extremely sick, but he/she might not have enough money to pay it at the moment, so instead paying it through taxes, their insurance will cover it. We also believe that health cards are needed, for our own safety just so we know if the person is paying their insurance, and what he/she has (problems). We also believe that we should have many walk-in clinics and many large hospitals with more than one doctor on each floor, also we believe we should have pharmacies in or near the hospital that is open for 24/7. Healthcare should be provided to everyone equally.

  • We will also take serious actions against fighting crime. No crime will be tolerated If the person steals anything from a store they will get a minimum 2 month sentence to jail
  • If a person gets caught selling drugs without a permit or have drugs on them they will be sentenced into jail for 1 year
  • If a person is involved in any sort of murder or plotting the person(s) will be sentenced to 3 years of jail time
  • If a person is involved or has seen criminal activity and has not told anyone, they will also face legal actions
  • The criminal(s) will be presented in court
  • There will be fine, warrants or penalties depending on what crime you did.
By voting for the Third party you will be creating your well future. So see the future through your hands ! And vote for the Third party.

Isu poem (3)

Life As We Knew It
The earth shakes, the volcanoes erupt, the skies get dark, the rain causes floods and tsunamis.
The whole world is about to change, no more worrying about going to school or work,
now survival will become the main thing to do.
Many evacuated but many stay for a sunny day.
The water was a necessity for living but now the water kills.
Not only has the earth changed but it is the entire universe, the moon has come closer to the earth and has caused all these problems.
The environment has changed.
Many people have changed with the climate change.
Many people already killed by nature, but try to survive with their skills.
The entire world has changed and shifted into survival mode.
The world is changing the surviving say.
The moon has come closer to earth and everything will  change.
Maybe forever or just a short time.
Not just our homes, maybe everyone's home will be the world we live in.
Before our own use to kill but now the land we took birth will take away birth.
But life will become Life As We Knew It.
The world will become Life as We Knew It.
Everything will become Life As We Knew It.
Just as soon as the meteor hits moon everything will be Life As We Knew It.

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas

The movie The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is a movie about a German boy, who becomes friends with a Jewish boy during world war 2. Bruno, the German boy is the son of one of the German army commanders and he is forbidden to meet any Jews. But in the movie Bruno sneaks out to meet his Jewish friend, who is in a concentration camp because he is a Jew. Bruno goes out everyday to meet his friend at the concentration camp from the outside of the fence. One day Bruno decides to go inside the camp, so he dresses up as a prisoner and get in the camp. In the camp Bruno gets killed in a gas chamber because he is mistaken as a Jew.

The movie showed scenes of world war 2 and what happened with the Jewish people. I think it was not fair to kill the Jews in world war 2 because they did not had really done anything bad as a community. The Jews were killed and sent to labor camps because Hitler wanted them to, and i think that is not fair to the Jews. The Jews had faced many problems during the period of world war 2 and think it was not fair to kill the Jews and send them to concentration camps.

war artifact

http://watchmysteps.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/world-war-3.jpg

This Image shows the horrifying scenes of war and what is happened to soldiers in war. The image shows scenes of world war 2 in Paris because one of the battles were in Paris, and this picture shows the battle. I chooses this picture as my artifact to represent my thinking of war because this picture shows images of world war 2, one of the most revolutionizing wars to happen. World war 2 has changed war into to modern warfare with new weapons and strategies, which i think represents ideas of war. I think this image represents war because it is showing one side fighting the other, Therefore i think this picture represents what happens war and my thinking.

The sniper summary

The short story “The sniper” by Liam O’Flaherty is a story about a republican sniper who is fighting in the civil war in Ireland. The sniper is on a roof, and across the street the is also another sniper, but the other sniper is a free stater. Then comes an armored car and an old lady who is an informer. The old lady walks to the armored car and points to the sniper. The sniper sees what is happening and he shoots the man in the armored truck and also the old lady. The sniper on the other building sees what is happening and looks where the other sniper is and shoots him. The bullet hits the sniper in the arm, the sniper that got shot is furious and is trying to kill the other sniper. So the sniper makes a plan, he puts his cap on top of his sniper, and the other sniper thinks it is a real person so he shoots it. The sniper makes sure it falls down the street, so the other sniper will think he is dead. The  sniper than stands up and kills him. The sniper is really curious who did he kill so he goes to the body and it turns out to be his brother. Therefore the story is about to think before you do something, because the sniper had killed his brother, and he had not been thinking before who could be on the other side.
